In this tutorial we're going to apply a pattern to a custom selection. In questo tutorial andremo ad applicare un modello a una selezione personalizzata. I chose to apply the US flag to a custom selection made to fit the US territory on the map. Ho scelto di applicare la bandiera degli Stati Uniti di una selezione su misura per adattarsi al territorio degli Stati Uniti sulla mappa.

Now, with the help of the Lasso Tool I made the custom selection to “fit” the US territory. Ora, con l'aiuto dello strumento Lazo ho fatto la selezione personalizzata a "misura" il territorio degli Stati Uniti.

Probably you have noticed that the custom selection contains the surrounding oceans also. Probabilmente avete notato che la selezione personalizzata contiene anche gli oceani circostanti. To eliminate the waters from the selection I use the Magic Wand tool. Per eliminare le acque dalla selezione io uso la bacchetta magica. With the left Alt key pressed I removed the transparent pixels from the selections (these are the waters). Con il tasto Alt sinistro premuto ho rimosso i pixel trasparenti dalle selezioni (queste sono le acque). So now I end up with this selection, which is much better: Così ora vado a finire con questa selezione, che è molto meglio:

Now right click on the custom selection and select Layer via copy . Ora, fate clic destro sulla selezione personalizzata e Layer selezionare tramite copia. A new layer will be created containing the custom shape (in my case the territory of the US). Un nuovo livello verrà creato contenente la forma personalizzata (nel mio caso il territorio degli Stati Uniti).

Now right click on the new layer and select Blending Options . Ora, fate clic destro sul nuovo livello e selezionare Opzioni di fusione.

Now click on Pattern overlay from the new window. Ora cliccate su sovrapposizione pattern della nuova finestra.

Now select the Pattern picker . Ora selezionare il selettore Pattern.

Now select your preffered pattern. Ora selezionare il modello preffered. I chose the US flag pattern. Ho scelto il modello bandiera degli Stati Uniti.

Now scale the pattern to best fit your layer. Ora scala il modello che meglio si adattano al tuo livello.

Click Ok to dismiss the Blending Options window. Fare clic su OK per chiudere la finestra Opzioni di fusione.
Save your settings Salvare le impostazioni
Now select both layers in order to merge them. Ora selezionate entrambi i livelli, al fine di unirli. Click on one of them, then by pressing the CTRL key, choose the second one. Fare clic su una di esse, poi premendo il tasto CTRL, scegliere la seconda.

Now right click on any one of the two layers and select Merge Layers . Ora, fate clic destro su uno qualsiasi dei due strati e selezionare Unisci.

That's it! That's it! For a better look I added the Drop shadow effect to the layer. Per vedere meglio ho aggiunto l'effetto ombra esterna al livello.
